Never Again has recently begun working with Avega, importing Peacebaskets from Rwanda to the UK.
The Peacebaskets are hand-woven from dried papyrus reeds by the members of Avega. Avega is a Rwandan survivors
organisation formed by women affected by the genocide in 1994. Avega members weave Peacebaskets to symbolize the
need for healing in their country and to help support themselves and Rwanda’s many orphans. Avega provides women and their children with emotional, financial and healthcare support including provision of anti-retroviral drugs for those members with HIV/AIDS.
Working with friends of Never Again, including the Rwandan embassy in London and Union Coffee Roasters we have avoided transport costs meaning that every penny paid for a Peacebasket will go directly to Avega.
If you are interested in buying a Peacebasket or would like more information about the product or our work with Avega please you can get more information from marian@neveragaininternational.org
